Gymnastics Programme - Gym for ALL (GfA)
We run gymnastics classes for all ages and stages from 5 years to adults, from beginners to more advanced gymnasts. Classes at all levels help participants develop co-ordination, strength, flexibility, fitness and confidence, as well as heaps of awesome gymnastics skills.
Classes start with a warm-up including the key gymnastics shapes and positions before gymnasts separate into small groups to work on their gymnastics skills across all apparatus.
Our programme runs in three levels:
- GYMFUN - beginner level
- GYMADVANCE - intermediate level
- GYMPLUS - advanced recreation level
Each term we offer fun events for all gymnasts to keep everyone motivated and to show off their successes.
For more details on our classes check out our 2019 timetable and the information below.
Our GymFun programme centres on teaching all beginner level gymnastics skills in a fun environment. After a group warm-up gymnasts work with their coach for the term on a range of skills and drills at each apparatus. Gymnasts work at the age and ability level specific to the class they are in.
To ensure gymnasts are always on the go, a circuit approach is used with each activity designed to develop the strength, co-ordination and flexibility needed to achieve at this level. Skills are broken down to make the technique easier to learn.
Boys classes focus on the development of skills for mens gymnastics on rings, p-bar, bar, floor, tumble track and vault. The programme is designed to be high energy, with skills from across gymnastics codes to motivate and challenge participants.
These classes have an emphasis on technique and performing skills safely. At each apparatus the coach will lead participants through a variety of gymnastics skills, strength, coordination, flexibility and fitness activities.
Our GymAdvance programme builds on the skills learnt in GymFun and incorporates flexibility and strength training so that gymnasts can progress through the next level of skills
Following a group warm-up and stretch gymnasts train on each apparatus learning skills and drills to help perfect their technique and extend their skills.
Gymnasts in GymAdvance also have the opportunity be part of HCG Squad and compete in regional competitions.

At this level gymnasts are able to specialize in the area they enjoy the most and focus on learning advanced recreation skills. GymPlus gymnasts also have the opportunity to be part of HCG Squad if they choose to. Contact us for more information on HCG Squad.
